In a biome far, far away, Minecraft Live this year has been a truly exciting one for fans of both Minecraft and the Star Wars franchise. On November 7, 2023, fans will be able to enjoy a full-length Star Wars-themed DLC set during the ‘Clone Wars.’

Players will reportedly be able to play as a Jedi Padawan trained by Grand Master Yoda or Mace Windu. There will also be plenty of opportunities to explore distant biomes and battle Galactic Monsters. According to the announcement, there will be several “classes” to choose from, with Jedi Knight being only one of them.

When ‘Path of the Jedi’ enters the marketplace on November 7, players will be able to jump right into the action with a customizable lightsaber and a droid.

The announcement of ‘Path of the Jedi’ wasn’t the only important one made at the event. The game’s director, Agnes Larsson, and other developers revealed exciting features for the upcoming update in 2024. Though the update doesn’t have a name yet, Larsson and level designer Matthew “Moesh” Dryden explored a new structure called the trial chamber—a procedurally generated space filled with traps, trial spawners, mobs, loot, and more.

The challenge adjusts based on the number of players in your party, thanks to the cunning trial spawner. Additionally, a new mob called the breeze will be introduced —a playful yet dangerous creature that uses wind power to attack while leaping in dizzying circles. They also introduced crafters, which automate crafting using redstone.

Last but not least, the winner of the highly controversial mob vote of 2023 has been announced, and it’s an Armadillo, with a staggering 40 % of the community votes. Despite the fans taking a stand against the mob vote, calling for all three mobs to be included in the game with an online petition. Armadillo has won against Penguin and Crab in what can only be described as a landslide victory.
